VAM Fall Member MeetUp & Happy Hour

Members of the Virginia Association of Museums (VAM) are invited to the Alexandria Archaeology Museum for a night centered around Alexandria’s waterfront history. This past year, archaeologists working at the Robinson Landing site discovered the remains of three 18th-century ships, along with wharves, warehouses and more. City archaeologist, Benjamin Skolnik, and Emma Richardson, Museum Educator, will share the latest on the discoveries, as well as speak about the programs and exhibits developed to share this information with the public. Space is limited.

Members and friends of the Virginia Association of Museums (VAM) are invited to join Alexandria Archaeology staff for a night centered around Alexandria’s waterfront history. Daniel O’Connell’s Restaurant and Bar is just a short walk away from the Alexandria Archaeology Museum and is only blocks away from the recent archaeological excavations that have led to the discovery of the remains of foundations, wharves, and thousands of artifacts including four 18th-century ships. Drinks and food will be available for purchase.

Public Transportation – The museum is easily accessible by the free King Street Trolley that runs from the King Street Metro Station to the foot of King and Union Streets in Old Town, Alexandria.
Parking – Metered street parking is available on Union Street, with restricted parking on nearly residential streets. There is a parking garage directly across from the Torpedo Factory Art Center on Union Street, as well as two at the corner of Union and Thompson’s Alley.
