Harrison County is considering the development of a zoning ordinance to help implement the Harrison County Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2016.  During the comprehensive plan process, the citizens determined that preservation of the rural character of the county was a priority.  Increased development and sprawl raised concerns among residents.  Residents cited the need for zoning to direct development in the right places and to preserve the rural character of the county.

The Harrison County Planning Department held four (4) open-house workshops in December of 2019 to gauge interest in county-wide zoning.  The planning department has created this survey to further receive public input on the support for county zoning.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey.  Thank you for your input!
