2018 Elise Lachowyn Mentorship Award
The Elise Lachowyn Mentorship Award honors an individual, female or male, who is recognized by her or his mentees and industry peers for having provided valuable advice, support, and guidance. Through a significant commitment of their time and effort, the award honoree will have contributed to the growth of the toy, licensing, or entertainment industry by building their mentee’s professional skills and abilities. Mentees can be inside or outside of the mentor's business.
The Elise Lachowyn Mentorship Award was established with the support of Tech4Kids to recognize outstanding industry mentors credited by their peers for providing exceptional contributions, education, advice and support, and the impact they have had on the professional development and career advancement for those individuals. The Award was created in honor and memory of Elise Lachowyn, a beloved leader, mentor, and friend to many in the toy industry.
HOW TO NOMINATE: Provide a letter of support in 500 words or less, in the space provided below. Describe how the nominee fulfills the criteria (listed below) and how she/he has positively influenced the mentee.
CRITERIA:
Below are examples of the qualities and practices that can contribute to excellence in mentoring. They are listed in no particular order of importance and a mentor need not display all of these qualities:
- Demonstrates excellence in mentoring
- Volunteers their time as a mentor
- Has mentored one or more individuals in the toy, licensing or entertainment industry
- Has been a successful role model
- Demonstrates a long-term commitment to mentoring
- Encourages the development of individual talents and strengths by acting as an adviser
