Nomination Form: The Emerging Star, The Champion Change-maker Awards

Award Descriptions

The Michele Corey Emerging Star Award in Advocacy is a youth or young adult (<26) who has proven to be a leader among peers in advocacy. With lessons learned from their lived experiences, they’ve developed skills necessary to promote a public cause, going above and beyond typical expectations for motivating and marshaling others to work toward positive changes that will benefit others.

The Michigan’s Children Child & Family Champion Change-maker Award is a person who’s spent significant time “working in the trenches” in advocacy to build grassroots support and change to affect public policies that improve the odds for children, youth and families in their community or state. The Champion Change-maker may or may not have a professional job that’s tied to their advocacy for children, youth and families, but has persistence and commitment that results in efforts that exceed the daily expectations of their job.
