Research overwhelmingly indicates that parent involvement improves student achievement. It also contributes to higher quality education and better performance of schools overall. Thank you for being a part of your child’s education.
Through the SPDG Grant, the South Dakota Department of Education in partnership with SD Parent Connection, SD Statewide Family Engagement Center, and Dakota State University have developed a four-part training series for you as a parent by developing modules centered around supporting children's reading development at home. The focus of the sessions will be the big five areas of literacy (Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary and Comprehension).
