Arts!Longview Cultural Arts District

The Mission of Arts!Longview is to spark a love of the arts, history, and culture to celebrate and enhance our creative community. From our hometown charm to our urban spirit, we are the art and soul of Longview.

Arts!Longview is a collaborative effort of several arts and culture groups in Longview. Currently, we are working to create a Cultural Arts District for Longview. Please give your input in this survey to help guide our effort.

What is a Cultural Arts District? The Texas Commission on the Arts can designate cultural districts in cities across Texas. Cultural districts are special zones that harness the power of cultural resources to stimulate economic development and community revitalization. These districts can become focal points generating businesses, attracting tourists, stimulating cultural development and fostering civic pride.

Encourage collaboration among the arts, history, and cultural organizations within Longview.

Increase visitor numbers by branding and marketing ARTS!Longview as a cultural destination.

Encourage existing and new arts organizations to cluster facilities, activities, and initiatives.

Develop unifying themes and other visual design concepts for streetscapes.

Encourage public/private partnerships to develop creative initiatives and cultural programming.

Work to connect arts organizations with funding resources.

Provide opportunities for networking and professional support.

Provide promotional and financial assistance to art and cultural venues and events enhancing Longview’s uniqueness as a destination for residents and cultural tourism.

Create a multi-faceted partnership for the sole purpose of attracting and developing unique restaurants and entertainment in the cultural arts district.
