The Strongyloides Awareness and Knowledge Study Survey.

Welcome to the SAK study survey !

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the level of awareness and general knowledge of strongyloidiasis amongst Canadian physicians caring for immunocompromised patients from endemic countries.

In non-endemic countries such as Canada, migrants are at higher risk of manifesting symptoms of Strongyloides and the use of corticosteroids is the most common precipitator of Strongyloides hyperinfection syndrome. With the COVID-19 pandemic spreading rapidly, vulnerable populations including migrants are disproportionately affected and are also at a higher risk of more severe disease. For those who are co-infected with Strongyloides it is important to be aware and acknowledge the risk of Strongyloides hyperinfection when dexamethasone is used for COVID-19 treatment.

We estimate that the required completion time is between 5 and 10 minutes.

For every completed survey, we pledge to give 1$ to the Canadian Red Cross International Programs fund (to a maximum of 5000$).

Please read the questions and instructions carefully.

We thank you for your time and cooperation.
