FIRST VIRTUAL CHILD WELFARE BOOK CLUB MEETING OF 2021!
MARCH 11 AT 6 P.M.

Many of our members listen to the books we discuss.  For this meeting, we are asking you to listen to episodes of the SMU Child Advocacy Clinic’s Podcast:

Aged Out: The Stories that Built Us

We will compare, contrast, and discuss the stories these aged out youth tell and what they teach us regarding helping to better the lives of all foster youth.

Elisha - now a youth specialist for the Texas DFPS, who lived in the system from the age of 6 until she aged out and went to college.

Hallie – entered care at 3, was adopted by her grandparents, but reentered the system at age 13 after her grandfather’s death.

As always, there is no fee to participate.  Continuing education credit will be sought, including .5 ethics.

We will send all who register a zoom link and “food for thought” questions for the meeting.

You can find the podcast on iTunes or Spotify by searching for Aged Out: The Stories that Built Us. Then scroll through the episodes to find Hallie’s episode and Elisha’s episode (which is split into Part 1 and Part 2).
