Town of Osoyoos Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan

Background
A Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan (CWRP) funded by the Provincial government’s Community Resiliency Investment Program will guide the Town’s FireSmart program. The Town is working with professional forestry consultants to create this plan which is being led by Osoyoos Fire Rescue. The project is expected to be completed in November 2026. The new CWRP will address strategies for wildfire management within the boundaries of the Town only. Surrounding areas within the Electoral Areas of the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen and administered by the Osoyoos Indian Band have their own emergency programs.
About the survey
The Town wants to hear from residents about the impacts caused by wildfire in our community and priorities for wildfire management. The online survey contains seven questions and will take about 5 minutes to complete. Results from the survey will be considered during the development of the Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan.

The survey asks you to identify wildfire impacts you have directly experienced. Wildfire can be a traumatic experience. Supports are available for people in BC dealing with the effects of wildfire.
