Online theft of card designs and sales of counterfeit cards by foreign entities is a growing problem for publishers. Members are reporting an increasing problem with their designs being illegally reproduced and sold, and the GCA is seeking member input to enable the GCA to act in the best interest of our industry.
The GCA endorses passage of the SHOP SAFE Act H.R. (8684/S.2934). This legislation would impose penalties on thieves and the platforms that sell their products. To better support the effort, it would be helpful to quantify the impact sales of counterfeit cards is having on your business.
Being able to share specific impacts - specific examples of stolen designs offered for sale and the number of GCA members affected - will help us make the case that the SHOP SAFE Act is needed. Please help us safeguard your artwork, creativity, and hard work by taking this quick survey.
