Completion of the survey is required by the school district
1.Human Immuniodeficiency Virus (HIV) is the only infectious disease carried by the blood that you should be concerned with.(Required.)
2.Annual training is required for all employees who can reasonably anticipate contact with blood or other potentially infectious body fluids while at work.(Required.)
3.The Exposure Control Plan manuals are located in each school’s administrative office and are available to every employee for viewing.(Required.)
4.The Hepatitis B virus can survive in dried blood for up to seven days.(Required.)
5.Universal Precautions are to be used only when there is a chance of contacting the blood of a human at high risk for a blood borne disease.(Required.)
6.Good hand washing is the number one defense against transmission of disease.(Required.)
7.Transmission of blood borne pathogens can occur through: broken skin ( open sores, cuts), and by entering mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and mouth.(Required.)
