Metro is planning a better commute on the I-105 by converting the existing single high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane west of the I-405 Freeway near LAX to Studebaker Road in Norwalk into Metro ExpressLanes and adding a second ExpressLane in each direction. Metro ExpressLanes are high occupancy toll lanes that help improve traffic flow and provide drivers with more reliable travel times. ExpressLanes allow carpools, vanpools, and buses to travel for free while also allowing solo drivers to pay a toll to use the lane.

Metro is identifying potential mobility improvements that could be funded with future net toll revenue from the I-105 ExpressLanes. As part of this effort, Metro is seeking input from the community through a travel survey. The purpose of this travel survey is to get an understanding of the existing transportation system and how people move around within the project area. The survey aims to gain insight into modal split and demographics data to help identify mobility improvements that provide the greatest value to the community.
