Please share your suggestions by February 23, 2018!

For nearly 15 years, most Groton Parks and Recreation Programs have been held at William Seely School, but that will soon change as we move programs to a community center opening soon!  Work is being done right now to make a portion of former Fitch Middle School building usable for our programs.   Programs will be housed in the "B" and "C" sections of the building.  For those who have been inside the building, that is the part that houses the gymnasium and the cafeteria.

Moving to this location is an exciting  new beginning for the department and the community. Identifying it as a community center demonstrates that the community is committed to Quality of Place and values the programs and services that the department provides. That message will resonate with business and people as they consider whether to settle in Groton.

The new space and location will allow us to better serve the community through more programming opportunities and the proximity to existing recreational facilities. Our goal is to create a thriving hub of activity by capitalizing on the building's location, nearby parks and other municipal services. We envision that people of all ages will be coming and going daily, and that type of vision deserves recognition.

Before we open the doors for the first time, we need your help to name the facility!  First, we need your suggested names.  Second, we'll ask the community to rank the top choices. And finally, we'll share the feedback with the Town Council so they can decide on formally naming it!
