Introduction
The Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce has pledged to help reduce traffic in Austin. Part of this effort involves empowering you, our MEMBERS, to try different forms of commuting as alternatives to driving alone. First, we want to hear from you: what does your current commute look like, what different mobility solutions do you want to try, and how can we make mobility options easier for you?
Developing mobility solutions for Central Texas will be an ongoing process. Not every type of mobility solution will be a good fit, but we need your input to determine what can work. The City of Austin aims to support you with solutions that make sense for your organization and will work well for you!
We will use your answers to provide support and resources to make getting out of traffic a reality for your organization. This survey should only take 5 minutes to complete, and you can take it during the workday.
In this survey:
- Alternative commute options include bus, rail, biking, walking, carpools, vanpools, and working from home.
- Rail refers to the MetroRail Red Line
- A vanpool refers to a group of co-workers who rent a large vehicle to carpool together to and from work. Capital Metro has a program called Metro RideShare that provides subsidized SUVs and vans for groups of 5 or more commuters.
- Working from home is used interchangeably with telework, telecommute, or remote work.
- A flexible work schedule can mean arriving to or leaving work earlier or later, in order to skip rush hour traffic. It can also mean a compressed work schedule, such as working 4 ten-hour days.
