Route 30 (Gravois Avenue) Second Public Meeting Comments

A comment form for the 2029 resurfacing and safety project along Route 30 (Gravois Avenue) in the city of St. Louis. This focuses on the locations for pedestrian crossings on the corridor and potential changes to various intersections on the corridor.
MoDOT and the City of St. Louis have begun the design work on Gravois and need to hear feedback on some initial choices. The public meeting shares initial thoughts for where vehicle lanes could be reduced and how to simplify many of the five- and six- intersections (where at least three roadways intersect). Both of these efforts aim to improve safety for all users while maintaining vehicular flow. Feedback at this time from residents, businesses, and people who travel along Gravois will help shape the project and drive many of the decisions made in developing the plans for the corridor.

5.Which of the following best describes you?
Pedestrian crossing improvements
Potential new and enhanced pedestrian crossing locations
Potential new and enhanced pedestrian crossing locations
Potential new and enhanced pedestrian crossing locations have been identified based on the following factors:
  • Crash data
  • Previous public input
  • Bus stop locations
  • Access to grocery stores and other businesses
  • Not near existing crosswalks
6.Where would you like most to see new or enhanced crossings?
Unsignalized intersection changes
MoDOT is considering making access changes to several unsignalized side streets to improve safety. The candidates for access changes were identified based on crash history and availability of nearby alternative routes. They include:
1. Rosa 6. Michigan/Minnesota/Juniata*
2. Dunnica 7. Pestalozzi*
3. Hydraulic/Bamberger* 8. Texas
4. Potomac 9. Victor*
5. McKean/Louisiana/Virginia* 10. 13th/Allen

* Indicates an intersection identified for access change in previous local planning efforts.
Some possible options at two intersections are shown in the images below.
