Welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences about the demonstration project at the intersection of County Road 7/5th Street W and 1st Avenue W in front of Cook County Schools.

Demonstration projects are short term, low-cost, temporary street changes used to test potential long-term street designs to improve safety and comfort for people walking and biking. Demonstration projects are used for evaluation and to invite participation from the public and other stakeholders before planning for permanent roadway changes.

The details of this demonstration project were coordinated by local transportation planners, engineers, public health professionals, and community members because of the potential positive impact it could have for people walking and biking to Cook County Schools and the YMCA. It is anticipated that the demonstration project will remain in place through the fall.

More information about the project can be found here. For additional information, please contact local Safe Routes to School Coordinator, Maren Webb, at maren@sawtoothmountainclinic.org or 387-2330. Supported by the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership, Minnesota Department of Health, and the Center for Prevention at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota.

Your input is very valuable! Thanks for taking time to share your thoughts.
