Terms and conditions

Eligibility
  1. Membership of the Gorbals Community Pantry is open to individuals living in the Gorbals. However, no person in need will be turned away solely because they live outside the Gorbals area.
  2. Membership is limited to one membership per household.
  3. Proof of address (e.g. a utility bill) is required when applying for membership.
  4. Memberships are reviewed every six months in line with eligibility criteria and Pantry policies.
  5. Members are required to pay a £5.00 annual membership fee, as well as either a £3.00 or £6.00 shop contribution at each visit.
  6. Membership lasts for one year from the date of joining. Members will be informed when their membership is due for renewal. To continue membership, the annual membership fee must be paid again.
The Gorbals Community Pantry Policies
Please read carefully and sign the box below

  1. You can visit the Pantry once per week.
  2. You must use the Pantry at least once a month to keep your membership active.
  3. Items are colour-coded so everyone knows what and how many items they can choose.
  4. You must come to the Pantry yourself.
  5. If you have reduced mobility, someone from your household can come for you.
  6. You must bring your membership card every time you visit.
  7. You must not resell any items you receive from the Pantry.
  8. Pantry stock changes each week. We cannot guarantee specific items.
  9. The Pantry may cancel membership if: You do not attend for more than 4 weeks, You move away from the area or You are abusive to staff, volunteers, or other members
  10. If your membership is cancelled, you may reapply but you may be placed on a waiting list.
  11. The pantry may have a waiting list if spaces are limited.
  12. Please bring your own bags as we cannot provide them. This also helps the environment.

We expect all members, staff, volunteers and visitors to:
Be respectful and polite to one another
Use appropriate language and behaviour
Respect differences, including culture, backgrounds, ability and personal circumstances.
The Pantry is a safe and welcoming space for everyone.
Any form of abusive, threatening or discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in suspension or cancellation of membership.

The data will be held securely and will not be shared with any individual or organisation without your consent, unless there is a lawful basis to do so, such as a legitimate interest or legal requirement.
