Grantmakers In Aging (GIA) is seeking nominations for the 2026 John Feather Equity in Aging Philanthropy Award.
GIA envisions a just and inclusive world where people of all ages are fully valued, recognized, and engaged. Achieving this vision requires confronting the inequities and transforming the policies, practices, and systems that harm some communities and individuals and benefit others in later life.
The 2026 John Feather Equity in Aging Philanthropy Award recognizes
a specific grant and the funder–grantee partnership working to make aging more equitable. The award highlights philanthropic investments that address systemic inequities, center the experiences of older people, and demonstrate impact.
The John Feather Equity in Aging Philanthropy Award is
only open to GIA members. Any GIA member can nominate a grant made by their own institution OR a grant made by another GIA member. The nominated grant can be at any stage of the funding cycle, as long as the grant has been made.
The award will be presented at the
2026 GIA Annual Conference in Denver, CO, October 20-23, 2026. Nominated programs will also be considered for a Spotlight profile in the next update to GIA's
Better with Age: A Guide to Funding in a Longevity Society.
