Position Description

The Canadian Mental Health Association BC Division has several rewarding volunteer opportunities to be part of a Review Panel for this year's scholarship and bursary applications.

This is a short-term virtual opportunity that requires an estimated time commitment of 10 hours. Applicants from across BC are encouraged to apply.

Duties:
Be able to commit to at least 10 hours of volunteering over from July 20-31. 
Read through the applications carefully
Rate the applications according to the selection criteria
Actively participate in a group discussion with fellow committee members regarding ratings decisions if any issue/discrepancy arises

Qualifications:
Have a passion for student mental health and well-being
A general understanding of the mental health and substance use challenges that students face and the obstacles they can create in the pursuit of education
The ability to review applications fairly, thoughtfully, and thoroughly
The ability to discuss among a group and collaboratively reach agreement
An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and a willingness to abide by CMHA BC's confidentiality agreements
Experience with students personally or professionally is an asset, but not essential
Previous experience on a review or judging panel is an asset, but not essential
