AHS CTE General Advisory Committee Business and Industry Survey

In concert with the high school Career & Technical Education (CTE) department, the Chamber of Commerce is promoting the concept of work-based learning opportunities, including internships, mentorships, worksite learning, pre-apprenticeship and job shadowing programs between students and the business community. We are specifically interested in identifying and addressing areas of concern in the high school curriculum, while the same time partnering with interested businesses in creating appropriate work-based opportunities.

This survey seeks to get your feedback on the viability of these programs with respect to your business. Please take a moment to review the CTE program at the high school Web site CTE Home Page, specifically the Work-base learning link on the left hand side for a brief definition on Work-Based Learning. We would appreciate your response to the following questions:

* 1. Would you be interested in providing a Work-based Learning opportunity for Anacortes High School students?

Question Title

* 2. If you have used students in your workplace in the past, what is your perception of their work readiness skills and work ethic? What could Anacortes High School do better to prepare students for work-based learning opportunities or employment with your business?
