BrowserQuests™ Beta Release Questionnaire (takes about 10 minutes to complete)

If you haven't already, please visit the BrowserQuests™ online role-playing game at https://browserquests.com and try the system, now available as a newer beta release. Be sure to give the RPG a fair chance (spend at least 30 minutes with it and complete the first module "Coming of Age"). Then, return to this survey and answer the following set of questions regarding the system so we can try to make it even better!

Question Title

* 1. Overall Website Impression – Was the signup process easy and intuitive? Was the website itself instructional, intuitive and easy to navigate? Did you browse the ruleset at all before attempting to play the game?

Question Title

* 2. Once logged into the game itself, did the overall user interface (UI) make sense? Could you easily determine what to click on to play the game? Did the various screen elements make sense to you?

Question Title

* 3. Does the command mechanism (series of buttons and dropdown menus that directly interact with the virtual gamemaster) seem easy and intuitive? Were you able to easily submit responses to the GM? Did the command names, options, modal windows and colors all make sense to you?

Question Title

* 4. Were you able to easily determine your worldly location within the game when desired, and were you able to easily move from your current area to another? Did the various mechanisms within the Maps modal window make sense to you?

Question Title

* 5. In general, how interesting was the story, characters and overall game content? Did the player mechanism seem appropriate for the story being told? Could you see playing through many more quests, modules and entire campaigns over weeks, months and even years?

Question Title

* 6. Which is better, dedicating the entire gaming engine to one fictional world or perhaps allowing authors to create their own worlds? Currently, the engine is designed to work with just one world but there is the thought of renaming the project “BrowserWorlds.”

Question Title

* 7. Currently, BrowserQuests is primarily a text-based RPG, with associated artwork (depicting characters, monsters and locations throughout the fantasy world) and background music. However, additional media elements are being considered for the platform in order to tell a more complete and entertaining story.

Please rank the proposed media elements below in the order in which you'd like to see them added to the BrowserQuests platform. For example, if you think voice narration is more important than anything else, rank that first.

Question Title

* 8. Did you try the new narration feature that allows the GM to narrate the prose on the screen? Are there any additional features or improvements you'd like to see?

Question Title

* 9. Finally, please consider providing us with an email address that we can use to contact you regarding your responses! In the past, contributors would leave us some GREAT feedback but if we had follow-up questions, we wouldn't know who to contact.

Question Title

* 10. If you do provide an email address, let us know if it's OK to add you to our periodic newsletter as well. Note that associated newsletters are only sent every few months.
