Overview / background

SouthPort Community Centre aims to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for the community, in particular those experiencing disadvantage, through supporting people’s aspirations and interests, affordable and inclusive learning, social and recreational opportunities, and encouraging the participation of all residents in the social and cultural life of the community.

Following the past two years of lockdowns and the effects of COVID, we are now seeking to identify any gaps, and understand how residents feel about their local community, and what they need.

Research Objectives:
  • To understand the Port Phillip community’s awareness and knowledge of SPCC
  • To understand the Port Phillip community's current needs, post Covid
  • To understand what sections of the community require are feeling most disconnected
  • To identify new program opportunities that help SPCC achieve their vision of being the heart of an active, vibrant, engaged community
