UBC Okanagan Innovation Precinct Survey

Introduction

The University of British Columbia Okanagan is developing a Business Development Plan for its Innovation Precinct.

The Innovation Precinct presents an opportunity to strengthen connections between UBC Okanagan research and innovation, industry, commercialization, talent, and the broader region. The Business Development Plan will help UBC Okanagan determine how the Precinct can best respond to current and future industry and community needs, including opportunities related to partnerships, programming, facilities and space, research collaboration, workforce and talent, and innovation.

As part of this work, UBC Okanagan is seeking perspectives from businesses as well as organizations that support and enable industry, including economic development organizations, industry associations, accelerators, chambers of commerce, investors, and other ecosystem partners.

Your responses will help UBC Okanagan better understand:
  • Current and emerging industry needs
  • Opportunities for stronger connections between industry and UBC Okanagan
  • Demand for research, innovation, talent, programming, facilities, and space
  • Barriers that may limit collaboration or growth
  • The role the Innovation Precinct could play within the Okanagan and broader British Columbia innovation ecosystem and how this role can complement the existing strong innovation-related work that goes on in the Okanagan more broadly

Participation is voluntary, and survey responses will be kept confidential. Findings will be analyzed and reported in consolidated form so that individual respondents and organizations are not identified.

At the end of the survey, you will have the option to provide your contact information if you are interested in participating in a follow-up interview. If you choose to provide contact information, your survey response will no longer be anonymous because the project team will be able to connect your identity with your responses. Your individual responses will, however, continue to be treated confidentially and will not be attributed to you or your organization in reporting without your permission.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Sydney Rankin, sydney@thinkstiletto.com.
