Speech Pathology Australia’s Speechie Library Talks (SLT) to be held in November are an opportunity for you to connect with your local community at your local library, and to share your knowledge about the role of speech pathologists in language and literacy development.

Once you have registered your details, SPA will connect you with a registered library where you can make arrangements on a suitable date and time for your presentation in November.

Please note at this time the campaign is available only to CPSP members. Students can hold a talk but must be accompanied by a CPSP member.

What happens at a SLT?
  • SLTs are generally up to an hour in length.
  • The target demographic is parents of young children (0 - 5 years). They are welcome to bring their children along.
  • SPA will provide you with an outline of the content of the talk. This will be in a PowerPoint Presentation, however presentation delivery can be adjusted to suit the local demographic.
  • SPA will supply your library with Book of the Year 2022 winner posters, bookmarks and flyers.
  • Relevant parent handouts will be provided for you to provide to participants.
  • Your library will order in the Book of the Year 2022 winners for you to present and read during your talk.
  • We are happy for you to converse with your library to mould the event to your target demographic/circumstance.
