CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
You are cordially invited to participate in 8th Annual Graduate School Research and Education Symposium, May 7th and 8th 2019 at UT Health San Antonio, 7703 Floyd Curl Dr, San Antonio, TX 78229. Our theme is "Rapidly Translating Evidence into Medical and Educational Readiness."
The symposium is intended to serve graduate school faculty, researchers, clinicians and healthcare administrators from across the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and partners in the civilian community.
The first day (May 7th) consists of faculty development, to include guest speakers and breakout-sessions. Poster and podium presentations are scheduled for the second day (May 8th), showcasing student and faculty research across the full spectrum of translational research.
Guidelines for Abstract Submission:

General Guidelines:
1. In support of graduate-level education, acceptable abstract submissions include completed research projects and literature reviews. Additionally, we will accept research proposals.
2. Abstract submissions should comply with the following specifications: 1 page, single-spaced, 12-point Arial font, with one-inch margins.
3. Please indicate your interest in consideration for podium / poster presentation, podium presentation only, or poster presentation only.
4. Only one poster presentation or podium presentation per person. Please provide the contact information of the person presenting the poster.

Timeline:
1. Abstract submission deadline: March 15, 2019
2. Invitations sent for poster/podium: NLT April 3, 2019
3. Presenter acceptance deadline: April 7, 2019
4. Deadline for poster submission for printing (military only): April 14, 2019
5. Deadline for podium presentation slides: April 30, 2019
Abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of civilian and military researchers. The top-scoring abstracts in each category of academic rank/status will be eligible for podium presentations. The number of poster presentations will be based on the total number of submissions and space availability. Details for podium and poster presentations will be provided to those selected to present.
Poster presentations will be scored by a panel of judges during the symposium. Top scoring podium and poster presentations will be recognized by the Dean of the Graduate School during an awards ceremony at the conclusion of the symposium.
