Welcome to the GSPO (Good Shepherd Parents' Organization) volunteer survey! Our incredible community thrives on parent volunteers. Please check any committees/activities for which you would like to volunteer. Another survey with more opportunities will be sent in August.

* 1. BACK TO SCHOOL BBQ

The Back to School BBQ is an awesome community building event that kicks off the school year. This all school, on campus event is a great way to catch up with old friends and welcome new families. This is a free event for students and their families!

* 2. FALL CARNIVAL

Carnival is an exciting, fun-filled event for the entire family with activities and games galore. This awesome fundraising event will be held on October 26th on the GSES campus. Many parent volunteers will be needed, from promoting the event, decorating, organizing games, sourcing prizes and much more. Specific jobs will be shared in August.

* 3. BIRTHDAY TABLE

PreKindergarten - 8th grade

Once a month, all students celebrating a birthday or half-birthday during that month are honored with a cupcake and a small gift during their lunch period. Volunteers are needed to bring cupcakes (store bought or homemade) and/or serve, as well as assemble gifts.

* 4. GRADE LEVEL COORDINATOR (2 per grade is ideal)

Help make our community stronger by volunteering to be a Grade Level Coordinator. Grade Level Coordinators help foster a sense of community among GSES families by organizing a back-to-school party and an end-of-year party for all of the students in the grade, as well as organizing two grade-level parent social events during the year. The coordinator will also assist the Yearbook Chair with collecting grade-wide pictures.

* 5. ROOM/ADVISORY PARENT

Being a Room/Advisory parent is a great way to get to know your child’s teacher, his or her classmates, and the other parents in your child’s class.  Positions are filled on a first come, first served basis.

Room Parent responsibilities include:
- attend one organizational meeting in the fall
- coordinate a treat from the class for your teacher's birthday and teacher appreciation week in the spring
- solicit parent chaperones for class field trips (preK-4th)
- work with your child’s teacher to plan Halloween and Valentine’s Day parties (preK-4th)
- organize parents to stay with the class during teacher appreciation lunches twice per year (preK-4th)
- coordinate parents in your advisory to bring advisory breakfast each Tuesday (Middle School only)

* 6. USED UNIFORM SALE

The Used Uniform Closet needs volunteers to help sort uniforms, set up, and work sales. We will have a big back-to-school sale in August in Kincaid Pavilion. There will be mini-closet sales throughout the year (specific dates and times are forthcoming).  Volunteers get first choice on the gently used uniforms!

Volunteers are needed to assist the Admissions Office at various times throughout the year. Tasks might include assisting with special occasions (such as Open House), outreach to prospective or current families, or providing guided tours for prospective parents depending on your level of comfort.
