* 1. GRADE LEVEL COORDINATOR 

Help make our community stronger by volunteering to be a Grade Level Coordinator. Grade Level Coordinators help foster a sense of community among GSES families by organizing a back-to-school and an end-of-year party for all the students in the grade, as well as organizing two grade-level parent socials during the year. The coordinator will also assist the Yearbook Chair with collecting grade-wide pictures. If you are interested in becoming a Grade Level Coordinator, please select the grade below:

* 3. FALL CARNIVAL

Carnival is an exciting, fun-filled event for the entire family with activities and games galore. This awesome fundraising event will be held on Saturday, October 16th on the GSES campus. Many parent volunteers are needed to help promote Carnival leading up to the event and help the day of. Areas of assistance can include games, publicity and so much more!

* 4. ADMISSIONS - GENERAL ASSISTANCE

Volunteers are needed to assist the Admission Office at various times throughout the year.  Tasks might include assisting with special occasions (such as Open House), assisting with mailings, making telephone calls, or providing guided tours for prospective parents. This is a great option for those who have spare time during the day or even just evenings or weekends!

* 5. ACOLYTE ROBES

The chaplain team needs assistance two times per year laundering chapel robes and cinchers.  Volunteers may do this at home or take the garments to the cleaners.

* 6. ART ASSISTANT

The Art department is looking for volunteers to help mat and display student artwork on a monthly basis.  Hours are flexible and only requires 2-4 hours per month.

2 volunteers needed: (1) volunteer for lower school, (1) volunteer for middle school. 

This is a great opportunity for those who need flexibility! Volunteer just once or multiple months!

* 7. SOCIALS

Interested in hosting a social? Socials are a great way to connect with other families throughout the year. Whether it’s a grade-specific kid party, parents’ night out for couples, or a bring-the-family event, there are many ways to socialize while raising money for GSES! Simply gather some friends to host an event and create a fun plan. The Social Chairs will help fill in the rest!

* 8. BIRTHDAY TABLE

PreKindergarten - 8th grade

Once a month, all students celebrating a birthday or half-birthday during that month are honored with a cupcake and a small gift during their lunch period. Volunteers are needed to bring cupcakes (store bought) and/or serve, as well as assemble gifts.

* 9. TEACHER APPRECIATION - TRIMESTER TREATS &  BIRTHDAYS

Celebrate our teachers by picking a date to bring treats to show our appreciation for all that they do throughout the school year! This is an excellent opportunity to say thank you to the teachers and staff and to let them know how much they are appreciated for everything they do for our children.

* 10. TEACHER APPRECIATION - LUNCHEONS

We love our teachers and celebrate them with a luncheon in fall and spring. This is a wonderful opportunity to thank our teachers first-hand by helping set up and serve lunch at the event. Join the fun on Tuesday, November 16 and Tuesday, May 10!

* 11. TEACHER APPRECIATION -  THE CHRISTMAS COLLECTION 

Ho! Ho! Ho! Looking for a way to spread some Christmas cheer to our teachers and staff? The Christmas Collection is a monetary present for all teachers and staff that takes the place of buying Christmas presents for your child’s teachers.

Come and join us in December to hand out The Christmas Collection flyers in the carpool line and/or distribute The Christmas Collection checks to teachers and staff.

* 12. HOLIDAY SERVICE OUTREACH

Volunteers are needed to assist with organizing our annual Angel Tree service outreach project in December by organizing donations for various charities.  This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and have fun while helping others have a happy holiday season.

* 13. GRANDPARENTS'/GRANDFRIENDS' DAY

Grandparents'/Grandfriends' Day will be held on Thursday, March 24 for Middle School and Friday, March 25 for Early Childhood and Lower School.  Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of this special day including set up, check in, refreshment table, classroom assistance, photography, and serving as campus guides.

* 14. SPRING FUNDRAISER

Instead of the traditional school auction, we're changing things up this year! "Springfest" will be a casual, come-as-you-are night of live music, food, drinks, dancing, and fun! The event will be held on March 26th at a local outdoor venue that specializes in live entertainment and great food. It will feature high-end raffle and auction items, but on a smaller scale. Volunteers are needed to help with raffle items, grade-level baskets, decorations, VIP pre-party, underwriting, ticket sales, invitations, technology/data entry, slideshow/video, & general volunteers.

* 15. FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS

The Festival of the Arts is a school-wide event on April 21st when children can show off their art work from different mediums - painting, drawing, music, performance, sculpture and more - to their parents and special guests. Volunteers are needed to help set up the evening event, facilitate the flow of people throughout the school, and serve refreshments.

* 16. GRADUATION 2021-2022

ATTENTION 7th GRADE PARENTS! It is a tradition at Good Shepherd for 7th grade students and their parents to host fall and spring school dances and May graduation activities. (This also gives the 7th grade parents an opportunity to see what's ahead!) Help organize school dances for our 7th and 8th graders, or assist with graduation festivities to celebrate this important milestone! Volunteers are needed to decorate, set up and clean up after receptions, as well as assist with videos, gifts, and picture board display. Help our students create some memories!

* 17. LIBRARY

Do you like to work in a fun and pleasant environment? Do you enjoy a flexible volunteer schedule? If you do, you'll enjoy helping out in our school library. Volunteers are needed to help shelve books, assist at the Book Fair and other special events, and many other special projects.

* 18. SUPER DADS

Get to know other dads at Good Shepherd by volunteering to be a Super Dad. The Super Dads help out in a variety of ways including:
- Hot dog lunches for students  
- Friday morning carpools
- Assisting with set-up and take-down of GSPO events

The Super Dads also host various fundraising events and social gatherings throughout the year.

* 19. USED UNIFORM & SPIRIT WEAR SALE

The Used Uniform Closet and Spirit Shop needs volunteers to help sort uniforms, set up merchandise, and work sales. There will then be mini-closet sales throughout the year - specific dates and times are forthcoming. Volunteers get first choice on the gently used uniforms!

* 20. YEARBOOK

Volunteers are needed to help with various aspects of creating this year’s yearbook. You will work with the Yearbook Chair to sort through pictures submitted by parents, faculty, and staff in Vidigami to choose the best pictures to include in the yearbook. In addition, and depending on your individual interests, volunteers may be involved in the layout, design and organization of the yearbook as well. We need your input to make the GSES yearbook a success!
