Speechie Library Talks 2022 - Library Registration Speech Pathology Australia
Register your interest to host a speechie!
Speech Pathology Australia’s Speechie Library Talks (SLT), to be held in November, connect libraries with their local speech pathologist. The SLTs are free presentations to your library community, focused on helping parents and carers to build their child's language and literacy development.
Once you have registered your details, Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) will endeavor to connect you with a registered member speech pathologist and you will work together to select a suitable date and time for your event in November.
Please note that the member speechies are donating their time so they may only be available to conduct one or two events for your library community.
Also note that while we have more than 13,000 members, we may not have a member located in your specific area. We will let you know as soon as we have a member matched to you.
What happens at a SLT?
SLTs are generally up to an hour in length.
The target demographic is parents of young children (0 - 5 years). They are welcome to bring their children along.
The speechie will deliver a presentation and book reading demonstration, as well as answer questions from participants.
SPA will inform your library of the Book of the Year 2022 winners in advance so you can order them in time for the SLT.
SPA will supply your library with Book of the Year 2022 winner posters, bookmarks and flyers, as well as relevant parent handouts for the speechies to hand out to participants.
We are happy for you to converse with your speechie to mould the event to your target demographic/circumstance.
