2022 Local Unit Awards Nomination Form

The WSNA Cabinet on Economic and General Welfare is proud to announce the Local Unit Awards to be presented during the 2022 Leadership Conference on April 24 - 26, 2022 at the Campbell's Resort in Chelan, Washington. 

Please nominate someone that you feel has done an outstanding job as a local unit leader. Which member of your local unit deserves special recognition? Did your negotiation team do an outstanding job this year?Please submit your nominations by the Feb. 25 deadline.

Outstanding Local Unit Chair

This is a Local Unit Chair who is known for the ability to get things done. He or she leads by example, in promoting WSNA to their local unit members, potential members, and the community around them. Their ability to inspire, mentor and conduct the business of the local unit is unsurpassed.

Adversity Award

This award is given to an RN or group of RNs who have faced a particularly difficult challenge within their workplace, and with persistence, perseverance, and determination have prevailed in their fight for truth and justice.

Local Unit Star

This Local Unit team member can be a long-standing or a new WSNA member. They have stepped forward in the past year to become more involved with the Local Unit. They may be the one who makes the many phone calls, meets with new and perspective members, becomes involved with workplace/WSNA committees, or does all of these things. This is the special person who stepped forward in a time of need.

Outstanding Negotiating Team

The award is presented to a negotiating team who stuck together and supported each other from prep through distribution of the contract. While at the same time, dealing with difficult issues, keeping members informed, involved and mobilized using innovative and unique methods.

Emeritus Award

The award is presented to a WSNA member who is retired and has made significant contributions to their local Unit and may have contributed at a state and national level.

Outstanding Grievance Officer

The award is presented to an individual who assists nurses in the bargaining unit to understand the rights within the contract and effectively represents the bargaining unit nurses.

Membership Award

The award is presented to an individual or committee which has worked to develop the local bargaining unit through activities such as membership recruitment, communication systems, fund-raising, development of community public relations for WSNA, and the local bargaining unit, and other projects which promote the bargaining unit.
