2020 Conference Scholarship Application

We’re so glad you’re interested in a group application for scholarships.  This is an easy way for you to get your group registered. If your group application is approved, these things will happen:

We will create a special code for you.
The members of your group can then register, using that code. 
Each member must register in advance of the conference, using the code, to attend. 
These scholarships are for West Virginians who want to come to the Try This conference, but can’t afford the registration fee right now. If somebody wants to help build a healthier community and a healthier West Virginia, we want them at the conference! 

Each scholarship covers one person’s registration and food, plus a lot of fun and networking. Each person is responsible only for lodging. Rooms at the college don’t cost much: $20 a person per night for a double and $30 for a single per night.  Each person who wants to stay in a dorm signs up for a room when they register.

Try This will give scholarships to as many people as possible, but there’s a limited amount of money. Scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis.


If the lodging cost is a problem for some of your group, let us know below. We may be able to cover one night. We are trying to make the scholarship money stretch.

Please ask your group members not to register for the conference till you hear back. Then they can use the code. We will try to get back to you within a week.

* 5. Group applications are limited to 6 scholarships. How many scholarships are you applying for? Each person receiving a scholarship should be someone who wants to attend, but cannot afford it now.

* 7. We want people under 18 at Try This!  But we want them to be safe. Any person under 12 must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian.  People under 14 will be asked to list their accompanying adult when they register. Each person under 18 must be accompanied to the conference by a responsible adult. If your group includes minors, please tell us how they will be supervised.
