Has it been your lifelong dream to learn how to ride a bike?

Is this series right for you?
If you never learned how to ride a bike as a child--or you did learn but have not ridden since--our Adult Learn to Ride series is for you.

The Program
Jibe is pleased to offer one of the most popular cycling series across the country--Adult Learn to Ride!
This class is for people 18 and over who’ve either never ridden a bike before, or have not in many years. First, we’ll get you riding. Then we’ll give you skills and experience for riding on local trails and streets. Apply to take the level you need, or take all three!
Details for each level are on our website.
In Level 1, students use a “balance first” method to gain confidence. Everyone will learn at their own pace. You will start by practicing how to start, stop, roll, glide, balance, and steer; and then move on to pedaling. You will also learn to adjust a helmet for proper fit. (Note Level 1 has ended for this year.)
In Level 2 we will continue to practice basic skills of riding, learn about riding as a group, and go on a beginning trail ride. (Level 2 applications are closed.)
For Level 3, we will build street-riding skills, like lane positioning, signaling, and merging on a ride to increase your confidence. (Still accepting applicants.)
We will provide bikes. Please bring a helmet or you can purchase one for $5.
Qualified applicants will be selected based on a review of their applications by staff. We will notify selected participants for Level 1 by the email address provided no later than March 29 (please check your email). Spots are limited, so applying does not guarantee enrollment.
Please sign up for the sessions you want.
  • Application window: still open only for Level 3
  • Level 3 Class Date: May 14
  • Times: 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
  • Location: Inderkum High School, meeting at the Bike Tech classroom
