Virginia has been allocated $4.5 million in CARES Act relief funding to support the recovery of the Commonwealth’s commercial fishing, seafood, aquaculture, and charter fishing industries from the impacts of COVID-19. Eligible individuals, businesses, or industry groups will have to demonstrate a revenue loss during a period in 2020 greater than 35 percent as compared to the prior five year average over the same period. This is one-time funding and won’t make up the majority of losses Virginia’s seafood businesses will experience due to COVID-19. This survey will help us determine  priorities and ensure that Virginia Marine Resources Commission is making the best use of these limited funds as we develop our spend plan.  Please complete this brief survey by June 1, 2020.  This survey should take less than 5 minutes.
