Scotland's Critical Technologies Supercluster - Digital capability map

For Scotland to compete globally in critical technologies, the ecosystem needs a clear and credible way to present its capabilities to the world. To support this, Technology Scotland has developed a new interactive digital capability map, part of a wider suite of promotional activities developed under the Critical Technologies Supercluster initiative.

This capability map, which sits within a new Critical Technologies Supercluster website, allows customers, investors, supply-chain partners, and collaborators to easily identify Scottish organisations, understand what they do, and locate capabilities across the country.

It acts as a strong marketing and discovery asset, enabling business development, inward investment, policy insight, and high-value collaboration opportunities.

These keywords enable the platform to identify relevant partners, alternative suppliers, and collaboration opportunities, so it is important that they reflect your organisation realistically and specifically.

How to choose effective keywords:
Think about terms that someone would use to find a company like yours. Good keywords should describe:
• Technologies or materials you work with (e.g., silicon, InP, MEMS…)
• Capabilities or skills you have (e.g., packaging, modelling, testing, integration…)
• Products or outputs you provide (e.g., sensors, PICs, semiconductor lasers, software, solid-state lasers…)
• Application areas you support (e.g., quantum, telecoms, space, biomedical…)
• Specialisations or differentiators (e.g., cryogenic, high-power, low-noise….)

Keywords should be specific, technical, and descriptive, rather than broad marketing terms (avoid words like “innovative”, “leading”, etc.).
