Question Title

* 1. The City of Sierra Vista has proposed purchasing 20.25 acres of land from the Sierra Vista Unified School District adjacent to the Rothery Educational Service Center to continue efforts to renovate the site’s recreational amenities and make them available for public use.

The City has been leasing the land from the school district since 2018, to include all sports facilities on the property and the City of Sierra Vista Sports Division building, which was renovated by the City last year. This proposal carries out strategic plan objectives set by the City Council over the last several years that directed staff to explore ways to partner with the school district to expand recreational amenities and opportunities for local residents. The school district has no current plans for the land or facilities included in the proposal and does not forecast that it will have the ability to make improvements in the near future. The property's appraised value is $981,000.  The proposal will be considered by the Sierra Vista Unified School District Governing Board in June.

Are you in favor of the proposed sale of SVUSD land and sports facilities adjacent to the Rothery Educational Service Center to the City of Sierra Vista for restoration and public use?
