The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) is studying possible changes to Grand Street and Metropolitan Avenue between Union Avenue and the Metropolitan Avenue Bridge in Brooklyn.
The changes being explored are:
- Convert Grand Street from a two-way street to a one-way eastbound street
- Convert Metropolitan Avenue from a two-way street to a one-way westbound street
Converting streets to one-way traffic brings many benefits, but comes with tradeoffs. NYC DOT is seeking feedback on how Grand Street and Metropolitan Avenue function today and how converting them could affect travel and access in the area.
