The Kimba CFS Brigade is seeking community feedback on the future of the township siren.
The township siren is currently not operational, and at this stage, the cause is unknown.
While there are now a range of ways to receive emergency information, including mobile phones, emergency warning apps and other communication channels, the Brigade recognises that the township siren has long been a familiar part of emergency communications in Kimba. They are keen to understand whether it continues to play an important role for local residents.
As funding is no longer provided for the ongoing maintenance of township sirens, any future work to investigate and repair the system will need to be carefully considered.
The Brigade is encouraging as many residents as possible to complete the short survey below. Your feedback will assist in deciding the best way forward.
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and help shape the future of emergency communications in our community.
