TITLE OF PROJECT: Stressful Life Events and Well-Being

PURPOSE OF STUDY/PROJECT: The purpose of this study is to explore experiences of stressful life events and their impact on well-being and adjustment. This study has been reviewed and approved by the Louisiana Tech University Institutional Review Board.

PROCEDURE: Volunteers will be instructed to complete the accompanying survey, which asks questions about general characteristic, stressful life events, well-being, and adjustment. It should take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete the survey.

INSTRUMENTS: The survey will consist of a collection of questions intended to gather basic demographic information as well multiple questions to collect information about stressful life events and related psychological and relational characteristics.

RISKS/ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS: There are no foreseeable risks associated with this study, but you will be asked about experiences of stressful events, which may cause some discomfort. You can skip any questions that cause discomfort and you can stop completing the survey at any time without penalty. If you experience discomfort, please call the national crisis hotline at 1-800-273-8255.
The participant understands that Louisiana Tech is not able to offer financial compensation nor to absorb the costs of medical treatment should you be injured as a result of participating in this research.

This server may collect information and your IP address indirectly and automatically via “cookies”. However, this will not be used to identify you, and all identifying information will be deleted once data is collected.

BENEFITS/COMPENSATION: There are no direct benefits associated with completing this survey.
