It is time to cast your ballot for the 2015-2016 ICCSSA Executive Board election! ICCSSA needs to fill the following open positions:

The candidate(s) for President-Elect are:

Anthony Bielski
(Clinton Community College)

I represent Eastern Iowa Community Colleges by serving as an Academic Advisor and Adjunct Instructor for Clinton Community College.  I have been employed by EICC since 2011, and I work closely with all aspects of student services. Throughout the last five years, I have increased my appreciation for higher education and developed a genuine passion for collaboration.  I earned my Associates of Arts Degree from Illinois Valley Community College, Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Illinois University, and a Master’s of Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose University.  I have participated in many ICCSSA events, but I do not have governance experience within ICCSSA. I bring to this nomination over ten years of experience collaborating with schools, colleges, and other institutions of varied capacities.  I have worked closely with all aspects of student services both individually and in teams.  I continuously demonstrate leadership though my customer service style, my careful communication methodology, and my emphasis on strong relationships. I look forward to learning, growing, and eventually leading this amazing association.

Whitney Riggs (Des Moines Area Community College)

Whitney Riggs has worked many roles within higher education including: Advising, Career Services, Learning Center Coordinator, Teacher Candidate  Coordinator, Outdoor Recreation Services and Adjunct Faculty. Whitney has been at DMACC since 2014 and some of her previous institutions are Pikes Peak Community College, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Mesa State College and Millikin University. She holds a
B.S. in Exercise Science and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Iowa State University. Whitney is a new ICCSSA member and is eager to get involved in the organization’s leadership.

The candidates for Members-At-Large are:

Wendy Ivarson  (Western Iowa Tech Community College)

Educational Coordinator for TRIO Student Support Services. 
Wendy has been working in higher education for 7 years in both the TRIO-SSS program at Western Iowa Tech Community College and in Admissions at Northwestern College.  She is passionate about higher education and specifically serving first-generation, low-income students and students with disabilities. Wendy earned her BA in Business Administration from Northwestern College and her MA in Higher Education from the University of South Dakota.  After teaching English in South Korea for a year, she and her husband adopted a little Korean girl are now excited be in the adoption process again for a baby boy.  Wendy is eager to become more involved in the ICCSSA organization and serve its membership through a member-at-large position.

Megan Snook-Lautner (Des Moines Area Community College) 
Academic Advisor for the Engineering Technology Programs
Megan is a proud community college graduate and has worked worked at   community colleges in the state of Iowa since 2010. Through her unique position at DMACC, she is able to offer proactive advising to students in the career and technical programs.  Her experiences cover Recruitment, Marketing, Credit for Prior Learning, Veteran Student Support, and Advising. She holds an A.A. in Education from Kirkwood Community College, a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Iowa and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Iowa State University.  Megan is eager to continue her involvement in the ICCSSA organization and
serve in a member-at-large position.


Sheila Becker (Northeast Iowa Community College) 
Director of Advising, Registration, and Persistence
Sheila is in her fourth year as the Director of Advising, Registration, and Persistence at Northeast Iowa Community College, Peosta Campus, and also assists veterans as the campus Certifying Official. She has been with the College for 35+ years
and has a wealth of experience in student services, having served in roles within admissions, advising, and records/registrar. Sheila is also a member of many college committees including Retention, Orientation, Ellucian Core Team, Graduation, Student Services Planning Council and the Placement/Dev Ed Task Force.  She holds a Bachelors degree from Loras College in Dubuque.  She has attending many ICCSSA conferences over the years and curr
