1. Program Information

The NSF INCLUDES Alliance: The Alliance for Students with Disabilities for Inclusion, Networking, and Transition Opportunities in STEM (TAPDINTO-STEM) is a collaborative project funded by the National Science Foundation with the goal of increasing the quantity of students with disabilities receiving associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
 
The program is open to any student in a STEM field (sciences, technology, engineering, math, etc.) who identifies as having a disability (e.g., physical, medical/systemic, learning disability, autism, ADHD, etc.) , including undergrads and graduate students. The program begins now and goes through the end of the Summer 2022 semester.
 
Program Benefits Include:
  • During the first year of this program, students will receive $1,000
  • In following years, students will receive $500 per semester for up to 6 more semesters
  • Mentoring opportunities
  • Research opportunities
  • Enrichment opportunities (time-management skills, study skills, tutoring, etc)
  • Financial support to attend research conferences
  • Preparation for entry requirements for graduate school
     
Participation Requirements:
  • Be an active, current student at UH Mānoa, Kapiʻolani CC, or Northern Marianas College working toward an associate, undergraduate, or graduate degree in a STEM field
  • Be a US Citizen, a national, or a lawfully admitted permanent resident alien
  • Students must “self-report” their disability
  • Participate in mentoring activities
