Save our Downtown Post Office

National and local media is full of news about Post Office closures across the country. Unfortunately, the Downtown Pensacola branch is on the chop list. Which means, all postal activities will close at this branch and be moved to another location (probably Jordan Street). It also may mean that every P.O. Box currently at this branch will likely be reassigned and/or relocated, regardless of how long you’ve had the address.

The Postal Service is giving us a one-time opportunity to discuss alternative options to closing the Downtown Pensacola Branch at a schedule Town Hall Meeting. As a community of Business Owners, Residents, Employees, Government Entities and patrons of the Downtown Pensacola Post Office, let’s make this chance count.

PLEASE attend the Town Hall Meeting to learn more about the U.S Post Office plans, suggest alternative ideas and express any concerns about the impact this decision will have on your business and/or household. There must be an alternate option to abandoning downtown.

Town Hall Meeting
Tuesday, August 18, 2009
First Baptist Church “Chipley Center”
500 N. Palafox Street (use Jackson Street entrance)
