Lucerne Valley Unified School District LCAP survey 2019-20

The state of California requires each school district to create a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) annually. This is a document that is created with input from all stakeholders as a plan for educating and supporting all students.  We are in our fifth year of revising the LCAP and are now working on the document for the 2018-2019 school year. As always, we need and value input from all our stakeholders as we make plans on how to best support our students and prepare them for their futures. Your input will be calibrated with other input and student data to determine what will be included in the LCAP. Your answers will remain anonymous.

We are maintaining our three LCAP goals:

1. Students will receive a quality education.

2. Students are on track to graduate from high school prepared to enter college or the workforce.

3. Students will be engaged in a positive school climate.

Based on those goals and stakeholder input, we continue to:

* Provide professional learning opportunities in multiple content areas and added four additional days for professional development for teachers

* Increase A-G offerings at the High School to prepare students for college

* Sent students to the "Pathways to Success" career fair so students could explore career opportunities in the high desert

* Hired a full time intervention teacher for the elementary school

* Built in intervention periods at the middle/high school

* Provided summer school at the high school

* Expanded our auto shop program at the high school

* Upgraded technology and purchased additional laptops and Chrome Books

* Continued AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) implementation at middle/high school. Provide many opportunities for our students to visit colleges.

* Installed more surveillance cameras around campuses

* Provide intervention programs for students including Lexia and NextGen Math

* Maintain current classes and expand Career Technical Education programs

* Provide release time for collaboration/planning in content area/grade level

* Adopt textbooks that support Common Core State Standards

* Maintain District English Learner Coordinator

* Hire and retain teachers that meet appropriate qualifications

* Provide transportation to students

* Maintain facilities

* Provide multiple opportunities for academic and social interventions/enrichments including Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports at the Elementary School
