Where does the flooding occur?
Where does the water come from? (downspouts, neighbor, street, etc.)
How often does the flooding occur?
Any additional details? Note: you can attach photos and send more information on our Flood Reporting Portal, www.cityofmadison.com/reportflooding

Optional private storm sewer connections will be included with this project, as needed. They connect an existing underground private storm service from your home, typically from a downspout or sump pump, to the public storm water system and can help move storm water away from your home. The connection from the public storm sewer would be provided to the property line, and this work is assessable.
Would you be interested in a private storm sewer connection?
(Please contact Lauren Striegl at LStriegl@cityofmadison.com for more information)

Are there any items adjacent to or within the public right-of-way that we should be aware of prior to starting construction? Terrace Rain Gardens help reduce stormwater runoff and improve water quality. Some terraces along Cedar St. may be suitable for a terrace rain garden. Eligible terraces should meet the following criteria: minimum area of 10’ X 15’ in a relatively flat, open space away from trees, utilities, and driveways. If your terrace is eligible would you be interested in having a terrace rain garden installed with the project at a cost to you of $100? Installation with the project would include all grading, the initial planting (several planting plan options are possible), and placement of mulch. You can learn more about our Rain Garden program at: www.cityofmadison.com/TerraceRainGardens

The City has received a request for additional traffic calming on Cedar St. The City has a general traffic calming process, but since this work could be coordinated with a reconstruction project, we will consider installing speed humps on Cedar St. and a traffic circle at the Cedar St/Hickory St intersection, if there is interest from the neighborhood. Locations of the traffic calming measures are shown on the preliminary plan on the project website. Are you supportive of traffic calming measures installed along Cedar St.?
