COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Utilizes effective two-way communication systems to inform and seek engagement of parents and community members. Ensures ALL school staff are working together with parents/guardians and communities to forge productive partnerships for the benefit of student success and well-being.
LEADERSHIP FOR A STRONG INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM: Demonstrates extensive knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices to communicate high expectations for students, staff, and community success.
EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONS: Demonstrates transparency and efficiency in providing ethical management of school resources, processes, and human capital allocations to support the accomplishment of school goals and initiatives.
CULTURE AND CLIMATE: Creates a community-centered environment of caring adults committed to creating and maintaining a friendly, positive, and safe school climate in order to meet the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of students.
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT EXPERT: Demonstrates effective skills in utilizing multiple sources of data and parent/guardian and community input to lead the design and implementation of strategic goals, educational practices, programs, and initiatives leading to continuous academic improvement.
MAINTAINS CONTINUITY: Recognizes that changing who is principal can be disruptive for students, staff, and parents/guardians. Will work to ensure that there are few changes in the way that the school runs and in school traditions, at least until people are comfortable with the new principal.
