Academy conversion consultation survey

Proposal to convert Gilbert Colvin Primary School to Academy status and join Strive4 Academy Trust

This survey is an invitation from the school to offer your views on this proposal.
-
Since April 2026, the Governors and Leadership Team at Gilbert Colvin Primary School have been exploring options for the next phase of the school’s development, including becoming part of a local academy trust called the Strive4 Academy Trust.
-
Having considered several different academy trusts, the governing body agreed earlier in the year to move forward with a proposal to join Strive4 Academy Trust. We will now be formally consulting on this proposal, creating opportunities for staff, families and the wider community to share their views. Consultation means sharing of information about joining Strive4 Academy Trust, the chance to express views or concerns, talking and listening and to ask as many questions as you can think of.
-
This partnership is not about changing identities but about strengthening them - two successful partners coming together to share expertise, enhance educational outcomes, and ensure that every young person has the chance to succeed, no matter their background, ability or additional needs.
-
The consultation will run from 2 November 2026 to 4 December 2026. After this, and subject to the feedback received, there will be a final decision by our governing body and by the Strive4 Academy Trust board, and if decided upon, for Gilbert Colvin Primary School to join the trust on 1st February 2027.
-
We will also be holding meetings for our stakeholders to learn more about Strive4 Academy Trust, share your views and to ask any questions you may have.
-
So, your views on this survey would be appreciated.
