8.Diversity Committee - Develop programming around diversity initiatives in the profession and for the people that we serve.
9.Ethics Committee - Provide ethics consultation for NASW members; refer any complaints regarding NASW members to the national Office of Ethics and Professional Review or the Iowa Board of Behavioral Health Professionals.
10.Government Relations Advisory Group – Follow and become informed on legislative proposals and changes in order to help guide and educate the work of NASW-IA and its members.
11.Student Social Worker Committee – Engage with student social workers on ways to ensure the student voice is heard. Connect students with networking, careers, fieldwork, events, advocacy, and other opportunities.
12.Professional Development Committee - Take an active role in developing the Annual Symposium and plan for CEU events in the state.
13.Leadership Identification & Nominations Committee - Help nominate and select individuals who represent the profession’s values to receive the annual awards. Identify people to run for both the NASW-IA Chapter board and the NASW Board of Directors.
14.Regional Branches - For local involvement, connect with your regional branch! Many have social and educational events going on and are looking for volunteers.
15.Are you passionate about politics? IOWA PACE (Political Action for Candidate Election) is for you! Be involved in endorsement of, and donations to, state candidates. Participate in electoral work on behalf of endorsed candidates.
