Greater Greater Washington is endorsing candidates running for Advisory Neighborhood Commission seats in the District's Nov. 3, 2026, general election. We will endorse ANC candidates primarily based on their responses to this questionnaire, which addresses the issues we work on: housing, transportation, and land use. Completing GGWash's endorsement questionnaire, via this SurveyMonkey form, is a prerequisite to be considered for our endorsement. We publish all responses on our website as a publicly available resource for voters. Candidates who are not explicitly seeking our endorsement often find value in having access to our platform in this way. We hope that you complete our questionnaire.

Please fill out and return this questionnaire by 11:59 p.m. on Thurs., Aug. 20. Responses will be published as quickly as our staff capacity allows. We appreciate your patience with us.

  • We will not accept responses in any form other than this one. You may not submit a PDF or Word document, or any other file type.
  • All questions are required. If you are unable to submit your response, it may be because you did not answer every question.
  • Keep responses under the stated character limit. If you are unable to submit your response and you have answered every question, it may be because you are over an open-ended question’s character limit.

  • If our questions prompt you to feel that you wish you knew more about who lives in your single-member district, use our indicator map to see, among other figures, population characteristics, the number of affordable and market-rate homes, people’s proximity to transit, and traffic-crash data by ANC and SMD. Our committee will meet the week of Aug. 24 to choose our endorsees, and we plan to publish endorsements the week of Sept. 14. We welcome submissions from all ANC candidates, including write-ins.

Housing production and land use

24.In the District, planned unit developments “allow developers flexibility to meet objectives such as use, density, site planning, and design” by incorporating “public benefits that exceed those that could have been achieved under the general provisions of the Zoning Regulations.” Not all commissioners will work on a PUD but, if one is proposed, ANCs may be able to negotiate which benefits developers might provide in exchange for greater height and density. 25.Greater Greater Washington is considering submitting to the Zoning Commission a proposal to enable a variety of smaller-scale housing types where they are not currently possible to build. Since a $9 congestion toll was introduced in Manhattan in January 2025, it has generated $700 million in revenue for New York City. Broadway had its highest-grossing year on record, and air quality improved across all five boroughs. Traffic injuries dropped in the congestion relief zone. In 2024, there were 6,455 reported crashes and 3,117 injuries. By 2025, reported crashes had dropped 5 percent, to 6,137, and injuries dropped 3.6 percent, to 3,003.(Required.)
