Welcome to Winter Wheels 2023!

Winter Wheels Participant Application

Riding your bicycle in winter is a fun, safe and reliable way to travel – and we’ll show you how! Our Winter Wheels program provides 25 aspiring winter riders with free studded tires and other supports. In return, participants must make a commitment to get out on their bike at least once a week throughout the winter, to share their stories and help increase the visibility and number of winter bike riders across the region.

All residents of Essex County and the City of Windsor are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to County Residents due to the generous program funding provided by the County Wide Active Transportation System (CWATS).

Please note that we are only able to supply studded winter tires for 26", 27.5" or 700C wheels.
