Interested in trying the GEODE models or using GEODE with students?

The GEODE project plans to release a new plate tectonics curriculum module in August 2019! Access to the GEODE materials will be free and open to the public.

The GEODE module will include the Seismic Explorer model, which allows students to explore earthquake and volcanic eruption data, as well as our new Tectonic Explorer model, which allows students to explore plate interactions and boundaries on a virtual planet. By making observations about Earth, students can use models to test hypotheses and consider how Earth system processes created, and continue to shape, the features and events on Earth.

We will also provide extensive teacher support materials. Teachers will have access to the interactive Teacher Edition of the module that includes teacher tips, theory and background information, and exemplar student answers. In addition, teachers will be able to use our pre and post-assessments as well as a real-time teacher dashboard to monitor student progress through the module.
