• Is your Service interested in hosting a GEMSA sponsored Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Course?

Below is a list of needs required to host an Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Course.

Logistical needs for Classes
Classroom for 32 students

For day 1: all we need are basic classroom accommodations with PowerPoint projection capabilities and enough seating for students. We have 4 breakout stations and usually do those in spread out areas of the building we are in.

CRITICAL INFORMATION
Day 2 is very dynamic and has numerous moving parts. Ideally a separate location from day 1 facility. An abandoned school or building with running water and power and several interior rooms and halls would be the holy grail for us to use. A working school is perfect as well, especially if the local FD can work with us on the fire alarm system. Our goal is to teach responders how to effectively move through a large structure in an organized and timely manner following an active shooter event.
Role players- role players serve a critical component in our course. Historically, EMS students, Fire cadets, and other groups have served very well in this role. 15 or more roll players is perfect. High school drama clubs, boys/girls clubs, family members of department members, local sports teams, have been absolutely wonderful resources. Roll players will be moulaged with fake blood and wounds by our expert therefore, some clothing may be dirtied or torn. PLEASE let your role players know this up front. Lunch will be provided for them.
Dry Erase board and markers
