The GEM Mentorship Program
GEM is a 9-month (September to May) program for self-identified girls designed to help you grow, explore your interests, and build skills for the future. You’ll be matched with a female career mentor for monthly one-on-one meetings, either virtually or in person. Through mentorship and hands-on experiences, you’ll develop professional skills, gain guidance on your goals, and access scholarships and job opportunities through the GEM network.

Eligibility Details:
To qualify as a GEM Mentee, you must live in the Toronto, Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton, Waterloo, Kitchener or Cambridge and be enrolled in high school at the start of the program in September 2026.
Ready to start your mentorship journey?
How to Join GEM:

1. Tell Us About Yourself
We’re looking for girls who are curious, ambitious, and ready to grow—especially if you’ve had to overcome challenges along the way. Tell us about your interests, your dreams, and why you want to be a GEM mentee. Submit your application by May 4th!

2. Virtual Interview
Some applicants will be invited to a quick virtual interview on the Kira platform—this is just a fun chance for us to get to know you!

3. Acceptance
If you’re selected, we’ll send you an email letting you know in early July.

4. Matching & Program Kickoff
Accepted mentees will fill out a short survey in the summer to help us match you with your mentor. The GEM program officially starts in September!

Your privacy matters! Any demographic information you share will be kept anonymous and may be shared with our donors. All your data is safely stored and only seen by the GEM Team.
